This weekend I published Sky Cell, my first ever video game, on itch.io! It’s free and will run in compatible browsers with no downloads required.

I developed Sky Cell over four weeks as part of a small group for WRITE 399 at the University of Alberta (you can see specific credits for who did what on the itch.io page). In bits and pieces over the past month, I polished up our initial release by replacing default character sprites with custom ones, fixing bugs, and making minor edits to the tilesets and parallax backgrounds for visual effect. This revised release is now available for all to enjoy 🙂

See the full description for Sky Cell below:
“Ann and Conor are two wildly different people with one thing in common: both have been convicted of murder. Sent to an island prison that is magically suspended thousands of feet above the ocean, Ann and Conor seem set to live out their days in sky cells. Their only hope is that one of them is innocent— not because it would lead to their release, but because the prison’s magic may only apply to the guilty. If an innocent is condemned, the magic will fail and the prison will fall to the sea.
Take control of Ann and Conor as they work together to escape the prison alive. Solve puzzles and make tough choices as the island falls and the clock ticks down to one of three potential endings.”

Well, what are you waiting for? Play it here!
