Hey there!
Last weekend, I participated in the 2024 Co-Create game jam hosted by the University of Alberta Games Den and Interactive Arts Alberta. It’s a little ironic given the name of the jam, but this time I chose to go it alone. See, I’ve been creatively blocked for a bit here, and when the jam hosts revealed the theme—”links”—I finally got an idea I could run with. For two days, I sat down with RPGMaker MZ to make my second ever game. Now, here it is: Untethered.
I’m fairly happy with how it turned out, but as soon as the dust settled over my disaster of a workspace, I was already thinking of things I could do differently. Instead of going back to significantly revise the game, I’ll let it stand as an example of what I can produce as a beginner under a tight deadline. I’ll store away all those post-submission ideas for use on a bigger project, one that I hope to start later this year (I promise that one won’t have any lazy dream sequences). Until then, stay tuned, and check out Untethered!
